Lauren comes to Kidsave with a knack for social media strategy and content production, having previously served at Montgomery County Maryland’s workforce development entity establishing their content strategy. Before this, she worked in television production at Hope Channel, a non-profit network, enjoying the pace of a live TV control room. Prior, she worked as a communications consultant and a reporter. Lauren has a Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English from Oakwood University.

Laura and Maria are both excited to celebrate their first blended Christmas together. Though, Laura has made sure to let Maria know that double celebrations “do not mean double the presents!” Laughing, Laura says, “I told her we can open half on Christmas Eve and half on Christmas Day.”

Jimy didn’t have an easy start. Born with toxoplasmosis Jimmy grew up losing his central vision, living in a Colombian orphanage for the blind for six years of his young childhood. That was until he accepted the chance of a lifetime to travel to the United States and participate in Kidsave's Summer Miracles program.
